About Us

The Joseph Gabriel Foundation (JGF) was established to advocate for youth who are at risk or in crisis through trauma-informed education, restorative outreach, advocacy, and mentoring. Through prevention and intervention, we serve as advocates, educators, and mental health practitioners, dedicated to empowering youth and families toward healing, growth, and lasting change. JGF is a bridge and lifeline for those in need of support, helping them overcome challenges, access vital resources, and build pathways toward brighter, safer futures.

The Joseph Gabriel Foundation is dedicated to breaking cycles of trauma and youth violence through education, advocacy, mentorship, and restorative outreach. We empower at-risk youth, women, and families with trauma-informed support and opportunities that promote healing, resilience, and positive change within their communities.

Our Mission

Our Programs

Youth Leadership & Mentoring

The Youth Leadership & Mentoring Program helps young people build confidence, character, and leadership skills. Through mentorship and positive community involvement, youth are inspired to become change-makers in their schools and neighborhoods.

Victim Advocacy & Crisis Outreach

The Victim Advocacy & Youth Crisis Outreach Program supports youth and families affected by violence and trauma. We provide crisis intervention, advocacy, and healing resources to promote safety, recovery, and resilience.

Literacy Initiative

The Books Not Bars Program provides free access to books and literacy events that build community and inspire a love for learning. The program helps youth choose knowledge over violence.

Correctional & Justice Initiative

Pathways to Healing: Youth Violence Prevention & Education for Incarcerated Individuals and Their Families.Empowers justice-involved youth and families through trauma-informed education and community support. Through workshops, mentoring, and outreach events.

Our Impact:
Since 2023, the Joseph Gabriel Foundation has made a meaningful impact across New York City’s inner-city communities and Westchester County. Each year, we serve over 500 youth and families through literacy initiatives, outreach events, mentoring, and trauma-informed programs that promote healing, education, and hope.
